Meet Chef Padilla


After years cooking at some of Arizona’s most celebrated restaurants, including Bacanora, Huarachis, and Atlas Bistro, Padilla is launching his own culinary project: Alita.

Every week across Phoenix, he fires up the grill and cooks food rooted in memory — smoky chicken wings glazed in mole or tepache sauce, bright citrus salads, and playful desserts inspired by the treats he grew up eating.

Recently named a “Rising Star,” “Chef to Watch,” and “Next Big Name” by the Arizona Republic, Padilla is bringing his full creative voice to the fire.

Starting in kitchens in his hometown of Yuma, Padilla has since cooked all over the country, from LA to Chicago to Miami. Starting Alita has been a project in the works for many years and is ready to be shared.

Come and experience: food cooked over fire, rooted in memory, and shared with the city he now calls home.
